...ere might be some hidden risks and side-effects which are yet unknown.
The answer is fair and simple. Yoga has been practiced since ancient years around BC's and such an ancient therapy did survive in the modern world only after rendering its powerful and effective healing. It is known that yoga is not experimentally verified totally but there are ample proofs of its success means anyone practicing yoga is found be healthy both physically and mentally, in history there is not a single case reporting the side-effects of yoga.

Typically, there are two main types of yoga classes for you to choose from. The first type, Iyengar, involves holding the poses for a long time in order to bring your bones, muscle and tissue into alignment or balance. It's a static, exact and focused exercise. Taking a very different approach, but with the same goals, Ashtanga yoga involves continuous movement and breathing during which you can really work up a sweat. Competition enhances the ego, and the ego is just a part of your personality. The ego resists union for its own survival. The ego is our social mask and does not want to share anything.

...The practice of yoga goes back more than 5,000 years. It came originally from India and spread from there all over Asia and, in the second half of the 20th century, to Europe and the Americas. Yoga is a generic word that encompasses practically all kinds of meditations that aim at a psycho-physical improvement. In the United States and Europe most meditation disciplines are focused around the physical position that is called lotus or asanas. The breathing of the meditating person plays a very important role, because in many yoga schools or disciplines it is used to focus the mind. It may be used as a passive vector by just observing it, or it can be used in the context of breathing exercises, most of which belong to the school of pranayama.

... importance to our survival. We can send toxins on their way by keeping the body in motion, and we do not need high impact movement to perform this task. Prevention of disease, and early detection of disease, are benefits of an internal awareness, which comes with yoga practice.
On the skeletal level, we want to keep our joints intact for as long as possible. The ligaments and tendons are precious, so we work to keep them in good working condition, as well. On top of this, spinal alignment, during posture practice, helps with mobility, when we become seniors.
How many other exercise systems work so completely? This does not take away the value of cross training. By all means, walk, swim, and play your favorite games; but in comparison, yoga, on the physical level, is the "Great Healer" of all forms of exercise.

...eacock pose for 2 minutes!!) and is quite simply great.
Many people practice yoga exclusively and at times for days on end, that is the only exercise I perform with as much emphasis on the unique Sun salutations as possible. I single these core warm-up routines of yoga out as they restore flexibility to the spine and believe it when I say they miraculously endow you with strength to hold challenging poses such as the Wheel, Peacock and Crow poses for several minutes on end. I mention these poses, because being a guy, these are the main ones that enhance the muscle groups us guys are so concerned about: Arms, Chest and Abs.
Ive also found that when combining these poses with other body-weight exercises like Hindu Squats and Push-ups, regular push-ups, reverse push-ups, pull ups and aerobic exercises, you really may not (re-phrase will not) need a gym or cumbersome equipment to get a total body workout.
Another great benefit of yoga lies in its unique Abdominal and Breathing exercises. These ones work. Being a former asthmatic and lethargic person, they have been an integral reason why my breathing (and singing mind you) has improved so drastically. Moreover, they have spiritual benefits such as clearer thinking, clairvoyance and increased focus.
It is important, however, when practicing yoga to adh...more

...Although yoga does not require too much accessories, the usefulness of yoga accessories cannot be doubted as it will make you more relaxed and secure. There are a few requisite yoga accessories that you cannot do without, especially clothing such as upper body wear and pants. The next is a yoga mat for practicing the various yoga poses, and then there are the yoga shoes or socks. Other like a bag for yoga mat, DVDs for self study and water bottle are optional, including yoga props.
One of the most essential yoga accessories is the clothing and it should not be too tight or too loose as you will not want it to interfere with your yoga exercises or leave you unfocussed. The upper body wear should be just right and usually they are made with a combination of cotton or Lycra as these materials are ideal for yoga for they provide comfort and pores for circulation
